KEARNEY, Missouri:  A new exhibit featuring Frank & Annie James: The Later Years opened January 16 at the Jesse James Farm & Museum.   This exhibit focuses on the lives of Frank & Annie James during the later years at the James Farm.  The exhibit begins with the death of Zerelda James Samuel, mother of the infamous outlaws Frank and Jesse.  The story continues when Frank and Annie lived on the farm with their son Bob.  Visitors might be surprised to learn Bob James, son of Frank James had a golf course on the farm.  The exhibit answers questions many visitors often have about what life was like when Frank & Annie James and their son Robert lived on the farm and how Clay County acquired the property.  Quilts, clothing, and items found during an archaeological dig are on display, as well as Annie James’ diploma.  Annie graduated in 1872, from the Independence Female College in Independence, Missouri.   Her diploma was restored in 2013 as a gift from the Friends of the James Farm and is currently on display.

Visitors can see the exhibit with regular admission to the museum, which includes a guided tour through the James Farm cabin, interpretive film, and self-guided tour of three museum galleries.  Admission to the museum is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for senior citizens and $4.50 for children.  The museum is located at 21216 Jesse James Farm Road in Kearney, Missouri.  The museum is four miles northeast of Interstate 35 at the Kearney, Missouri exit.

Call 816-736-8500 or visit www.jessejamesmuseum.org for more information about the exhibit or museum.
