Susan James Parmer, sister of Frank & Jesse, dies

George Shepard admits he made up a story about him killing Jesse James in an effort to collect the reward money.

March 11, 1874
Undercover Pinkerton detective, John Whicher, is killed by a gang of men, believed to been led by Jesse James after the gang stopped him on the road to the James farm, where he had hoped to secure work in an effort to capture the boys. The gang took Whicher across the Missouri river from Clay to Jackson County, Missouri, where his body was found.

March 11, 1881
Government Paymaster robbed near Muscle Shoals, Alabama of $5,200. Jesse James believed to have been involved.
